The Midlothian Independent School District is known for its renowned reputation for excellence through the dedication and commitment of the community, which puts education first. As a fast growth K-12 public school system located thirty miles south of Dallas, Midlothian ISD encompasses approximately 111 square miles within the boundaries of Cedar Hill, Mansfield, Maypearl, Ovilla, Venus, and Waxahachie. With a focus on student achievement and development, the district continues to offer outstanding educational opportunities to its students. The schools retain a long history of recognition for student achievement and excellent student discipline. Midlothian ISD prides itself on the first-rate quality of schools, the care and maintenance of facilities and the provisions for good learning environments. Part of the progress is the establishment of academic standards, improving student achievement, and finding new ways to ensure that every child succeeds in learning. Navarro College is a public comprehensive two-year community college, a uniquely American concept in higher education. The mission of Navarro College is adapted to its environment in Central Texas, and its educational and service programs are designed to enhance the personal, social, and economic potential of students and other people served by the College. Chartered in 1946, the College has a strong heritage with emphasis on providing a diversity of educational opportunities accessible to all who seek and qualify for admission and who can benefit from quality educational experiences. Within this context, the majority of Navarro College students come from its five-county service area. The College also draws students from throughout Texas and the United States and attracts international students. Navarro College seeks to prepare students for life and work in a global society through its commitments to quality teaching, to attracting a diverse student body, and to personal student development. Navarro's Midlothian campus is located at the corner of South Midlothian Parkway and Mount Zion Road. This 25,000 SF facility is the cornerstone building for the new campus, with four more buildings planned over the next seven years as enrollment grows. Navarro has partnered with Texas A & M - Commerce to offer the Texas Two Step program at the Midlothian campus. Midlothian students will now be able to obtain a four year degree without ever leaving town. |
